“Jack” John A Smith, 90, of West Palm Beach, FL passed away February 11th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of Evelyn M Sylvia and stepfather William H Chandler. He was a devoted husband to Beatrice Smith and loving father to Veronica Nobles and Traci Smith.

Jack was an All-Star basketball player and ran track for Rockland High School. He was an outstanding athlete and fierce competitor. After high school Jack served proudly in the United States Army as a Private First-Class Military Police. Jack used the GI Bill to pay for college and he graduated from Westfield State College with a degree in Education. Jack also earned his master’s degree from Nova University. He spent his entire career as an elementary school teacher leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Jack played all types of sports and games – golf, ping pong, cribbage, scrabble and all types of card games. He loved the Red Sox’s, The Patriots, The Celtics and the Bruins. He also loved to yard sale – always in pursuit of the next treasure.

Jack was a devout Christian. We find comfort knowing that his legacy lives on through the lessons and wisdom he taught us and the wonderful memories he left us with.
