Lauril Lynn Hill of Jacksonville, Florida passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Lauril (Lauri) was predeceased by her father, Robert Hill. She is survived by her mother, Peggy Chandler; her daughter, Sarah Stough; and son, Jesse Stough. She is also survived by her sisters, Mindy Weiss, Tami (Don) Vaudreuil, and Connie Hill as well as her nephew, Trevor Weiss.Lauri was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina as the first of four daughters to her parents. She grew up in Ocean Township, New Jersey, where she quickly developed a love of horses and talents in photography and sewing. She graduated from Western Maryland College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She made Jacksonville, Florida her home for much of her adult life, where she raised her children and later enjoyed a vibrant jazz music scene.Lauri faced her journey with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) courageously, never failing to put her family ahead of herself. She is remembered as a proud mother, daughter, sister, and aunt and for her unfailing smile and positivity.A graveside service in celebration of Lauri’s life will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to Team Gleason, further enabling those living with ALS to experience empowered and purposeful lives until a cure can be reached.
