Marie Rose Maryse Desrouleaux Ambroise was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to the late Louis Desrouleaux and Jacqueline Nicolas Desrouleaux. She went home peacefully, Thursday May 16, 2024. She married her childhood sweetheart Emile Ambroise in 1960. To this union were born three daughters: Mathilde, Emelyne (deceased), Maryse and one son Emile Jr. Maryse was a housewife while living in Haiti, then fled Haiti due to political persecution then joined her husband six month after his departure in Zaire, Africa where she remained a housewife. After five years, Maryse and her Family relocated to Irvington, New Jersey. She co-established the First Haitian Community/ French/Creole mass in Blessed Sacrament Newark, New Jersey. From there, the family relocated to Palm Beach County and assisted her husband in establishing several Haitian communities: In Belle Glade, Okeechobee, Fort Pierce, Indiantown, West Palm Beach, Lantana, Lake Worth, Delray Beach and Pompano Beach and held a full-time job as a clerk at the W.I.C. office at the Health Department. After twenty-five years of service, she retired from the Health Department, but continued to be of service to the community. Upon retirement Maryse spent quality time with her husband, children and grandchildren and pursued her love for cooking, baking, traveling and mission work. She is survived by her three children: Mathilde Ambroise, son-in-law Stephen Smith; Maryse and son-in-law Peter Bradshaw; Emile Jr. and daughter-in-law Montrice Ambroise. Five grandchildren: Michael Larrieux (Wife, Rosi), Emelyne Marie Henry (husband, Brandon) Myriam Allen( husband Jeremy), Isaiah Ambroise and Inessa Ambroise. Three great-grandchildren: Israel Allen, Kamori Henry and Kai Henry. Out of 9 siblings, two sisters survived her: Denise Mars, Giselle Lamarre and brother Mondes Halaby (wife Noemi). As well, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends will be mourning her.
