Agim Fortuzi, age 83, died Feb 5th, 2021 at his home in West Palm Beach, FL after a prolonged illness. Mr. Fortuzi was born July 26, 1937 in Tirana, Albania, son of Ali Fortuzi and Qanije Strmasi Fortuzi. Agim's father was a school headmaster and prominent resident of Tirana. Agim graduated from college in Tirana with a degree in Economics. Based on his excellent language skills Agim served as an editor of the major newspaper in Tirana and for the morning news report for the television station until 1991. Agim and Bukurije were married Nov. 26th, 1972. Mr. Fortuzi immigrated to the United States in 1992 and lived in Farmington, CT with the St. Pierre family. He later settled in New Britain, CT with his wife and daughter Arlinda. Agim worked in food service and as a security guard while studying at Goodwin College, graduating with a degree in Accounting in 2000. Agim and Bukurije moved to West Palm Beach, FL in 2005. He became a United States citizen in 2010, and continued working until his retirement in 2019. Agim was a devoted father, grandfather, often self-sacrificing to provide a better life for his family. Agim was a chess master and especially enjoyed playing chess with his grandchildren. Agim was a hard-working man of integrity, a strong believer in speaking the Truth and staying close with nature, and will be remembered as a most honorable man who overcame significant challenges without bitterness, rather choosing to live a life full of Dignity. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Bukurije Fortuzi, daughter Blerina and husband Leo Merxhani, daughter Arlinda and husband Ryan Wiebe, stepdaughter Bjanka and husband Ideal Gjoni, and six grandchildren: Florina Gjoni; Sadi, Arlind, and Janet Pajaziti, Mia and Mathew Wiebe, and great-grandchild Giulia Tomassetti.
