Ways you can honor Hoyt's memory:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33
Hoyt Sidney Smith, 65, who was born on August 10, 1959, in Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Hoyt was a devoted husband, outstanding father, and beloved friend who cared deeply for everyone he met.
He graduated from the University of South Carolina and spent the last 12 years as a valued member of the Regal Paint family. Hoyt cherished time with his family, enjoyed racing in all its forms, and loved sharing fancy dinners with his beautiful wife. He was active in many school and church communities throughout his life and supported others battling Parkinson’s disease through his online blog.
Hoyt is survived by his loving wife, Sandi Smith; his children, Whitnee Vannelli and her husband, D.J., and William Smith and his wife, Bailey; his grandchildren, Duke Vannelli and Rio Smith; and his brother, Stephen Smith. He is reunited in peace with family members who passed before him and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on August 10, 2025, at a location to be decided. Please follow this memorial for updates.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation are appreciated.
