Mary Louise "Marylou" James of West Palm Beach, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021. She was 94 years of age. Her life journey began in Corning, New York where she was born to parents Lenore and Boyd Mahaffey on May 8th, 1926. Her parents later moved to the Wilkes-barre area of NE Pennsylvania where she graduated from Kingston High School. She went on to college and in 1949 she graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in education. She started her teaching career in North Umberton, PA and later she also taught in Passaic County, New Jersey. A decade later she met Thomas R. James through a colleague of hers, fellow teacher, Ruth Deets. Marylou and Thomas were soon married and raised a family in Wayne, NJ. She bore two children; Robert Thomas in '61 and David Frederick in '63. In 1976 they moved to SE Florida and eventually would settle in Jensen Beach where her and her husband retired. Retirement life was busy with visits to grandchildren in Clearwater, FL, serving on the condominium board and various social committees. Marylou was a member of All Saint's Episcopal Church where she worshipped with her husband until his passing in 2001. Marylou was an avid book reader, and enjoyed walks on the beach. Marylou always said it was her dream to live on the beach; but most of all, she enjoyed being a wife, a mother, a grandmother and homemaker. She is survived by her sons, Robert and David; grandchildren, Megan, Melissa, and Mark as well as two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Kadyn. She is also survived by her niece, Nadine, in Wyoming, PA and cousins, Barbara, Suzanne, and Linda in California and Florida. Private familyServices and Entombment will take place, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
