Pamela Olive HamerOctober 9 1960 - June 8 2024Pam was born on October 9, 1960 in Guyana, the last of five siblings born to Thomas and Viola Hamer. Growing up in Georgetown, Guyana, Pam attended Primary school and Central High School before migrating to Brooklyn, New York.After moving to New York in 1978, she later pursued higher education at America institution, where she graduated with her Associate Degree in Business Management. Pam’s professional career was marked by her exceptional contributions to the finance department, working at Barclays Bank, where she was respected and admired by colleagues.In February of 1993, Pam gave birth to her first and only child, Carl. Pam was a proud mother to Carl. She always encouraged him to pursue his dreams by putting Carl through college at Delaware State University. Inspired by his mother, he majored in and graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration.Pam and Carl moved to Atlanta, Georgia for a short period of time until ultimately settling in Washington, D.C. working at Federal Management Systems, Inc. Later on, Pam underwent heart surgery in New York. Realizing she needs to be closer to her son, Carl moves Pam to Florida. During her time in Florida, she enjoyed spending time with her new Granddaughter, Brooklyn. Pam stayed strong as she was in and out of hospitals and undergoing many procedures. she fought until the very end.Pam leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and strength. She is survived by her son, Carl, daughter-in-law, Maria, granddaughter, Brooklyn, and siblings Ulric, Maylene, and Elizabeth, as well as countless friends and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.As we gather to honor and remember Pamela, we are reminded of the profound impact she had on our lives. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.May Pamela rest in peace, knowing that her life was a beacon of love, and that she will always be remembered with the deepest affection and respect.
