Lawrence Riccio, 85, of Palm Beach Gardens passed away peacefullyat his home.

Viewing will be held at 2:00pm at Northwood Funeral Home, 5608Broadway, West Palm Beach, FL. Catholic service will be at 4:00pmwith viewing to commence after the service.

Larry was born on September 24, 1937, in Chicago, IL. He is precededin death by his loving wife, Theresa nee. LoPresti. He is survived bypartner of 20 years, Patricia Aten; his daughters, Anne Riccio andMichelle Riccio; Three grandchildren, Tricia Liras (Demetri Liras),Joshua Mensik, and Ashley Mensik; and twogreat grandsons, Blake Liras and Brody Liras.

Larry previously owned a demolition company in Chicago andcontinued to sell antique Chicago brick until he passed. He witnessedmany changes in growth in Chicago through his many years there.

He raced cars through most of his life with his longest run with his1955 Chevy Belair, named Uncle Louie, retiring from racing at 80years old. He was highly competitive and nearly impossible to beat.Many spectators still remember him racing through all of thoseyears. He used to tell great stories and his passion showed each timehe would relive a great race.

He was an avid golfer. Again, highly competitive and probably missedhis calling and career in golf. He coached many through the yearsand very much enjoyed the company of the men he played with. Heloved the game and the competition.

Many, many days were spent finding the right stone for the right setting, just sohe could give it away and make someone’s day a little better.

Larry was married to his high school sweetheart, Theresa LoPrestiRiccio for 45 years until she passed from cancer in 2002. They werean example of love and understanding for all of their family andfriends. They both volunteered and were involved in the CatholicChurches in Illinois. They could clear a dance floor in seconds. AfterTheresa’s passing, Larry met Patricia Aten and spent the next 19years traveling and enjoying life together. They bought a house inPalm Beach Gardens and lived a full life of entertaining and spendingtime with friends and both Larry’s and Patricia’s families. Patricia’sfamily loved Larry as if he were their own, Nanette Bayer (Robert,Samantha), Carl, Rose Aten (Anthony), Brian, Sabrina Aten (Brooke,Kyle, Brittany, Brianna, Kristen), Brenda, Pete Ryan (Korey, Allison,Ashley). Life will forever be changed without the presence of Larry intheir lives.

He touched many hearts of many people and he will never beforgotten. His storytelling was one of a kind and you would findyourself riveted to the story just to find out the ending. He was agenerous man and many are grateful to have known him. He was astrong man, with a soft heart, who will be missed by most who knewhim and cherished by those closest to him.  Rest in Peace Larry. Wehope you’re dancing with Theresa, winning at golf and racing, andtelling your unforgettable stories to those who got there before you.Until we can be together again. Love you always.
