George Thomas Quick Jr, passed away January 15, 2024 at the age of 96 years in West Palm Beach.

George and his partner, Bob Havey founded H & Q Enterprises. This included the contract for Concessions and Catering at the WPB Auditorium where they remained for twenty years. George describes these years as the best years of his life. He experienced the entertainment years of the Ringling Brothers Circus, Elvis Presley, Liberace, James Brown, Eddie Arnold, Guy Lombardo, Pavarotti (clergy was free) and a surprise visit from Glenn Campbell. Other entertainment included Holiday on Ice, unique sporting events such as Wrestling, Roller Ball, Rodeo's, Truck Pulls and even a Home Show with a skiing squirrel. There were Banquets, which were expertly catered by Bob, Pat and their son, Rob Havey. Pat stated, that the Holiday on Ice performers would always request Spaghetti and Meatballs. School Graduations, Contractor's testing site, Pratt & Whitney Christmass parties and more took place during these years.

The West Palm Beach Auditorium was the heart of our community. Circus animals were transported to town by train to the WPB Railroad Station. The animals and performers would parade down Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard to the WPB Auditorium. Watching a Ringling Brothers Circus set up and take down was an amazing feat. Only when you witness this can you appreciate the work that went into the Circus.

These years provided many good memories for George's children, Wayne, Gigi & Robert. George met his wife, Jessie during this time. Jessie's mother, Rosemary Wiksten and her friend Helen Stone introduced Jessie and George.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home of West Palm Beach.
