Suzanne Ellis David Buist, known to her loved ones as Sue, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023, at the age of 93. Born on January 9,1930  in Chicago, IL., daughter of Charles and Edna Ellis. She was a remarkable woman whose life was filled with passion, grace and a love for adventure.  Sue's love for music led her to pursue a degree in music from Northwestern University. She was a talented pianist and found solace in playing the piano even after losing her vision to macular degeneration.

As a devoted wife and mother, Sue dedicated herself to her family. She cherished her role as an at-home mother and housewife when her children were young. Later in life, she discovered her passion for nature photography. Sue's wanderlust took her to many beautiful corners of the globe where she captured nature in her photos..

Sue is survived by her beloved dog Gigi, her brother Jack Ellis of St. Louis, her daughter Marguerite David Di Ieso of Vermont, her son James Record David of New Hampshire, and her two grandchildren, Sean Record David and Elizabeth Ann David. As a remembrance, donations may be made to the Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary in Orr, Minnesota, one of Sue's favorite places.

Sue will be remembered for her generosity, her love for music, and her ability to find beauty in every corner of the world. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
