Edward ‘Ed’ Lee Schmidt, May 31. 1947 – December 18, 2023: Ed, age 76, died on December 18, 2023, after a brief illness.  Ed was born in the Warren General Hospital in Warren, Pennsylvania, on May 31, 1947, to Harry F. Schmidt and Pauline Fleming.

Following graduating from the University of Tennessee with a BS Degree, Ed briefly served in the US Army at Fort Polk, LA, as a Private E2 before being Honorably Discharged on May 26, 1969. Ed became a successful entrepreneur as a women’s apparel salesman in the Atlanta Apparel Market before retiring to Greensboro, GA, to his Lake Oconee waterfront home.  Ed thoroughly enjoyed fishing and reading. Ed had a remarkable sense of humor.

Ed is survived by his brother Chuck (Cyndy) & Taylor Schmidt - nephew of Chattanooga, TN; Amanda Blair Schmidt - niece of Warren, PA; and life-long friend of 41 years, Billy (Lizzy) Holliman of Jupiter, FL.

Ed lived an entire and meaningful life. Those of us lucky enough to have known Ed are now left with a lasting sense of loss, but the memories will live on within every one of us. Farewell, my Friend, until we meet again.
