Terry Walter Strecker

“All your life, you will be faced with a choice. You can choose love or hate. I choose love.” Johnny Cash.

And Terry Strecker chose love. He entered life on December 12, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio and played baseball as soon as he could walk-inthe field between his house and his grandparents’. Terry attended Carleton College and Northwestern University before launching a teaching career that included teaching English, directing plays and coaching baseball and football. In 1982 he accepted a position with an office equipment firm that led to an illustrious career in sales, management and consulting that spanned nearly thirty years and four states.

Terry died peacefully on August 28th with Andrew and Kitty at his side. Terry is survived by his beloved family: Wife, Kitty, son Andrew, and grandson Max of West Palm Beach, and sister Pamela Strecker of Broomfield, CO. He was preceded in death by son Eric, and parents Walter and Eleanor Strecker. A memorial service to celebrate Terry’s life will be held on Saturday, September 10, at 2:00 pm at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 211 Trinity Place, West Palm Beach, FL with a reception to follow. The service will be live-streamed and may be accessed from the church’s web page. “Toasts to Terry” will be hosted by Kitty later this fall in Minneapolis and Atlanta. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Eric and Andrew’s alma mater, Trinity Preparatory School of Winter Park, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, or the Oleander Garden Club of the Palm Beaches.
