Elida Mayo Martinez, 64, passed away on November 20, 2025, held in the hearts of those who loved her. She was born on June 9, 1961, in Gibara, in Cuba’s Oriente province.
She is survived by her sons, Ignacio Ivan Hernandez and Juan Carlos Hernandez; her grandchildren, Gabrielle Elise Hernandez and James Carroll Hernandez; and her sisters, Elsida Naranjo, Eni Mayo, Ena Mayo, and Edith Silva. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and their children, all of whom she embraced as her own. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Mayo and Blanca Quevedo, her nephew Jorgito Viada, and her sister Edelsi Viada.
Family was the center of Elida’s life. She found joy in gathering loved ones, in cooking, and in spending time with the children of her extended family. She was known for her generous spirit, her faith, and her deep love for the people around her.
Among her belongings, her family found the small keepsakes she saved over the years, reminders of the moments and relationships that meant the most to her. These simple treasures reflect the heart with which she lived.
A viewing and memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Northwood Funeral Home & Crematory, 5608 Broadway, West Palm Beach, Florida. Family and friends are invited to honor her life and the love she shared.
Elida will be remembered for her devotion, her kindness, and her loving heart.

Elida Mayo Martínez, de 64 años, falleció el 20 de noviembre de 2025, sostenida en el corazón de quienes la amaban. Nació el 9 de junio de 1961 en Gibara, en la provincia de Oriente, Cuba.
Le sobreviven sus hijos, Ignacio Iván Hernández y Juan Carlos Hernández; sus nietos, Gabrielle Elise Hernández y James Carroll Hernández; y sus hermanas, Elsida Naranjo, Eni Mayo, Ena Mayo y Edith Silva. También deja atrás a numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas y sus hijos, a quienes siempre consideró parte de su familia. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Pedro Mayo y Blanca Quevedo, su sobrino Jorgito Viada, y su hermana Edelsi Viada.
La familia fue el centro de la vida de Elida. Encontraba alegría en reunir a sus seres queridos, en cocinar y en pasar tiempo con los niños de su familia extendida. Era conocida por su espíritu generoso, su fe y el profundo amor que ofrecía a quienes la rodeaban.

La velación y el servicio memorial se llevarán a cabo el martes 2 de diciembre de 2025 a las 6:00 p. m. en Northwood Funeral Home & Crematory, ubicado en 5608 Broadway, West Palm Beach, Florida. Se invita a familiares y amigos a reunirse para honrar su vida y el amor que compartió.
